Environmental Policy

Truwood recognise that we have a responsibility to demonstrate sound environmental awareness, management and sustainability through the implementation of best practice where possible. Our environmental management system is certified to the ISO 14001:2004 environmental management system standard.

Truwood environmental policy and environmental management system apply to our activities, not only at Truwood Ltd, Drumcondra, Emyvale, Co. Monaghan, Ireland, but also at our clients' work sites.

Truwood is committed, at all functions and levels within the organisation, to the protection of the environment. We will comply fully with environmental legislation and aim to reduce our environmental impacts by:

  • Minimising waste by reduced consumption of resourses and operation of effective and environmentally-sound waste management and recycling procedures.
  • Reducing energy use through effective education and awareness and the installation of energy- efficient technology where feasible.
  • Implementing a purchasing policy which considers the environmental impacts of the products and services purchased by Truwood, including where feasible the purchase of recycled and/or recyclable materials and materialswith minimum packaging.
  • Providing Truwood staff with the necessary awareness, education, training and resources to implement this policy
  • Developing environmental management action plans and regularly assessing whether or not the objectives and targets are being met

This Environmental Policy is communicated to all persons working for or on behalf of Truwood Ltd who are encouraged to work closely with each other, with employees from other Agencies, Contractors, Unions, clients, tenants, suppliers and other interested parties to continually refine our work practices to reach best practice standards.

Progress in implementing this policy will be regularly reviewed by senior management.
